First Day of 4k

Olivia,

Today was your first day of school and it was sooo exciting! Here's the project you did last night to bring in for your first day. You had to fill out the certificate about yourself and decorate the paper person to look like you. I think you did an amazing job!

We woke up early today to get ready for your first day. You were very picky about your outfit choice and how you wanted your hair done. We had lots of time left before school was going to start, so I took you out for breakfast...

You filled that little belly up with pancakes and you were ready to head to school! We got there a little early so I showed you where to line up everyday to wait for your teacher. Took a few pictures before going inside...

Then it was time to head inside! We went to your classroom where you found your cubby all by yourself...

You went and snuck a peek at the frogs, when your teacher reminded you that you have to sit until class starts.. You found your seat all by yourself and grabbed a book...

It was time for me to leave, so I gave you about a hundred hugs, kisses, and I love you's! After returning some of them, you said "OK, bye Mom!"  What you really meant was "Ok Mom, get out of here!"  I knew you would have a great time and I held my tears in until I got to the car and couldn't hold them any longer. I'm so proud of you today.

I picked you up and you couldn't wait to tell me and Dad all about it! Your favorite part was playing outside and getting popsicles :)  I know you're going to have a great year!

I love you so much!

Summer fun

Olivia,

Well we had lots of fun during your last week before school!

We went to the Greenville Zoo. It was a super HOT day, but you would have stayed all day long if I had let you. You always beg to go there because of the petting zoo. Holding the bunnies is your favorite part!

You sat there for probably an hour and tried to hold all the different colored ones. You cried when I said it was time to go!

Here you are trying to catch some birds. haha  :)

The next day, we went to The Fire. It took you awhile to decide which project you wanted to do (you were more interested in the play area in the corner than the actual projects.. haha). But you finally decided on a butterfly and I chose a dragonfly to match! Here we are working on our pieces...

We had so much fun.. you really enjoy doing art projects with me :) We had to bring them home to grout and paint them, which you had to do all by yourself! You did such an awesome job and they turned out great! Here are the finished products...

We had a cookout at Grandma Kay's house with Grandma and Chris, so of course we had to go outside and play "volleyvall" as you like to call it. You're so funny, you like to make up rules as we go along and then enforce them. You're the Captain!

Then we had a movie night. You always love when we do that and you yell "GIRL'S NIGHT!!" at the top of your lungs. You had to include Daisy in on the girl's night fun with some wrestling...

Then movie time! We had such a great weekend!

Now it's the night before school, and I get teary-eyed everytime I think about it. You are so excited and couldn't fall asleep (an hour past bedtime!) so we read books and had a snack til you we're tired enough to sleep. I couldn't get in enough hugs, kisses, and I love you's. You're such an amazing little girl and I know you'll do great at school tomorrow! (And now I'm crying again!)

I love you so much!

Preparing for School

Olivia,

It's the week before your first day of school. I want to start this blog for you, so we can look back at how much you've grown. I can't believe you're 4 years old already. Where has the time gone? It feels like just yesterday we were bringing you home from the hospital, all 8 lbs 8 oz of you.

You have already grown so much and you are such a beautiful little girl. You are so sweet, giggly, smart, silly, and loving. You put a smile on my face every single day. You make me want to be a better mom and a better person. I love you so much, words cannot even explain. (You'll understand once your a mom, just like my mom always told me)  :)

We went yesterday to see your new classroom and meet your teacher, Mrs. Johnson. You were so excited to check everything out, your eyes lit up. Your favorite part of your classroom are the 3 tiny little frogs that are the classroom pet. Daddy loved telling you about all the fun stuff he did at your school when he was your age. I know you won't be as much of a troublemaker as he was though!

Whenever I think about you starting school, my eyes fill up with tears. I have so many emotions about you starting this new chapter; excited, worried, proud. I can't imagine dropping you off on that first day, I'll probably be a wreck. But I know you'll do so great and have so much fun!

I love you so much!
